Upside Down

One sunny day in November I left Calgary Alberta Canada and headed west across the mountains towards Vancouver B.C. Canada. Within an hour it began to snow and then in the following hour it snowed even harder so for more traction I put on my tire chains. I decided to stop at the restaurant just over and past the next hill. I topped the crest of the hill and headed down very slowly on the icy road when I noticed a friend of mine, wrecked truck upside down in the ditch.

There was no safe place for me to stop to help, but as I went by I noticed Bill my friend standing on the bottom of his upside down truck putting on his full set of tire chains. Why would Bill be putting on tire chains I thought!! It was six months later when I met up with Bill stopped at a truck stop in the state of Texas. Yes, I asked Bill why he put on a full set of tire chains on his upside down wrecked truck back there in Canada. His first reply was that it was easier that way and he got paid $180,000.00 for putting them on!! My question now was how? Bill finally said that on that snowy day and location you had legally to have tire chains on to cross the mountain and be insured.

Once he had put on the tire chains he took a photo to show the insurance company that he had his tire chains on. Now the company had to pay out $180,000.00 to replace his truck and trailer.
